SSS Opens Calamity Loan Program for Members in Cebu

The Social Security System (SSS) has announced the opening of its Calamity Loan Program (CLP) for members in Cebu who were affected by Typhoon Tino. The program provides essential financial relief to help members and their families recover from the devastation.

According to the announcement, the NDRRMC has placed all 53 cities and municipalities in Cebu under a state of calamity, prompting the SSS to offer immediate financial support.

SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes de Claro stated, Our priority is to provide immediate, accessible support to help them get back on their feet.

Loan Details and Application Period

• For Cebu: Qualified members can apply for the loan starting November 6, 2025, until December 5, 2025.

• Loan Amount: Members may borrow up to ₱20,000.

• Interest Rate: The loan is subject to a 7% interest rate per annum.

• Repayment: The loan is payable over 24 months.

Who is Eligible for the Calamity Loan?

To qualify for the CLP, SSS members must meet the following requirements:

• Must be residing or working in an area officially declared under a State of Calamity (in this case, the province of Cebu).

• Must have at least 36 monthly contributions in total.

• At least six of these contributions must be posted within the 12 months immediately preceding the month of filing.

• Members filing must have at least six contributions under their current membership type.

• Must have an online account with SSS (My.SSS) to file the application.

• Must have no past due loan accounts or outstanding restructured loans.

• Must not have been granted any final SSS benefit.

• Must be of legal age and under 65 years of age at the time of application.

• Must not have been disqualified due to fraudulent claims.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online via the My.SSS facility on the official SSS website. Once approved, the loan proceeds will be credited directly to the member's enrolled disbursement account.

Other Affected Areas: Capiz

In addition to Cebu, the SSS also activated the CLP for members in Roxas City and the Municipality of Sigma in Capiz due to the effects of Tropical Storm Ramil.

Qualified members in these specific areas may apply for the calamity loan from November 5, 2025, up to December 4, 2025.

The SSS emphasized that these calamity loans act as a bridge to help affected members tide over their immediate needs and hasten their recovery.
